Evening courses for home-schooled students and others
Foundation-level course
2-D Studio Design

Exposure to local artists and artwork will take students out of the classroom and into the local museums and galleries. This is the companion course to 3-D Studio Design.
For Home Schooled Students this course can run the equivalent of a school semester and paired with 3-D Studio serves as a full-year art foundations course.
Available from 6 to 8pm Mondays- Thursdays depending on specific arrangements made.

Advanced-level Art Course
Art Portfolio Development
This 28-week program of study is intended for the committed art student who intends to work independently in studio art or photography, but would like to benefit from the intensity and energy of other working art students. The course provides preparation for SCHOLASTIC & College Board standards and competition, as well as the intensity of an advanced level course. This course is an alternative to the Independent Study that allows for independent study but also common periods where students can dialogue about their work, participate in collaborations, and share in group critiques. There will be opportunities in class for thematic discussions. Students will prepare a portfolio of work and a solo exhibition during the course. The portfolio may be used for application to college art programs and/or submitted to the Advanced Placement Program for possible AP credit, and the solo exhibition provides valuable professional experience. There is a required lab period that can be completed at Brick Street or at home. This course serves as the third year in a four-year program of study.
